During this presentation most of the students will talk about the great experiences they were able to participate in while at the conference. This should be very beneficial to all who attend. Please come and listen. The conference next year will be in Boston, MA and this may influence your decision to attend that conference as well.

Canned Food Drive to raise support for the local Idaho Food Bank

As part of the Dietetics Club is heading back to Pocatello from their weekend trip to Denver, others in the group are preparing for a canned food drive to help raise support for the local Idaho Food Bank.

We will be collecting canned food items during the week of October 26-30th, 2009. Donations can be brought into the Health & Nutrition Sciences office located in the basement of Reed Gymnasium. We will also be combining with Phi U on the night of Wednesday, October 28th, 2009 during the Bengal Boo-tacular Carnival at the Pond Student Union Building starting at 6 p.m--canned food items can also be dropped off there. If any of these two places do not make for an easy donation, feel free to post a message on this blog or send an email to: Idaho.State.Dietetics.Club@gmail.com and we will reply as soon as we can to help make your desire to donate go smoothly.

There will be a raffle drawing which will include the book, The Food You Crave, by Ellie Krieger, the hostess of the Food Network's television show Healthy Appetite. Many other great prizes will be raffled so please lend a hand. One raffle ticket will be given for every five cans. We will also be collecting toiletries as well for the Food Bank cannot purchase these.

Thanks for deciding to support our cause. We hope to see you soon! Thanks again and have a great Halloween!

Many club members headed to Denver, Colorado earlier today for the American Dietetic Association's 2009 Food & Nutrition Conference & Expo. They should have plenty of great information to share with the rest of the club members who were not able to attend this year. If all goes as planned, they should arrive back in Pocatello this coming Tuesday, October 20th.

More details will be posted following their return.
